Duo Kraynebo, formed by Ukrainian bandurist Anastasiia Kyshkovska and Danish flautist Liam Larsen, have played together since 2022. Since then, they have performed across Denmark and Ukraine. Their philosophy is to tell stories through music, centering largely around themes of colonialism and imperialism. For them, music is a powerful way to spread awareness of the impacts of history, and they seek in their performances to play meaningful music in meaningful ways through carefully curated programs. To this end of connecting music and the real world, the two have performed premieres of new works by a variety of composers, including Svyatoslav Krutykov, Marianna Filippi, and Olena Nemesh, among others.
After the first half, the musicians of Duo Kraynebo will be joined by their friends for a second set. Together with Mateusz Stanczak, Katrīne Sabīne Kalniņa and Marks Jonatans Runds, Liam Larsen and Anastasiia Kyshkovska will perform improvised pieces from graphic scores, prepared by each member of the band. During the concert the audience will be able to see the scores as they are performed.
