Join master botanical dye artist Rebecca Kelly for an immersive day of natural artistry in this hands-on retreat celebrating color, texture, and the beauty of the season.
In the morning session, you’ll learn the foundational techniques of bundle dyeing using autumnal florals and plant material on silk noir fabric—a richly textured silk that beautifully captures nature’s pigments. Explore the alchemy of color as flowers, leaves, and steam transform fabric into a one-of-a-kind work of art.
Afterward, enjoy a lavish seasonal vegetarian lunch featuring fresh, local ingredients and an assortment of herbal teas—a moment to rest, connect, and reflect.
In the afternoon, return to your now-dyed silk and learn to embroider and stitch floral designs and freeform textures, adding dimension, movement, and a personal narrative to your piece. No prior stitching experience is necessary—just a willingness to experiment and create.
Leave with a finished or in-progress artwork that’s both a keepsake and a reminder of the deep creative connection between petal and thread, hand and earth.
