Native American History and Culture in South Carolina and Fairfield County

Do you have an arrowhead you might like identified? Would you like to learn more about the Native American history and culture in our area? The folks at the Isaac C Thomas Historical Museum do. Come join us on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm as the museum and South Carolina Humanities present The Heritage Series highlighting Native American History and Culture in South Carolina and Fairfield County. Our presenters are well versed in their topic and will share their extensive expertise with us on a personal level. Check out the flyer below for more information. You can currently enjoy an Indian arrowhead collection on display on loan from the McGuirt family with arrowheads from the Ridgeway and Wateree area as well as a beautiful Pratt 88 painting depicting a scene from 1539 when Hernando de Soto visits Indians. The museum is open on Fridays from 1 to 4 pm and Saturdays from 11 am until 4 pm. There is no admission charge, and we always welcome the public.
