Summer Trekking Launch Weekend

Join us for a weekend full of hiking, Bounce Houses, educational talks, lawn games, and more!

Become acquainted with our free Summer Trekking program, enjoy nature, make new friends and connections.

Event by Ridgefield Parks and Recreation and the Ridgefield Conservation Commission, co-sponsored by Woodcock Nature Center, the Ridgefield Library, CT Running Company, and KAZ Outdoors.

Saturday:

8:00-11:00AM: Morning Hike at Pine Mountain. Join Ridgefield Conservation member Matt Sharp and the AMC for a moderate 5 mile hike in Pine Mountain. Experience great views, engage in wildlife and plant observations. Please wear appropriate hiking attire, bring water and light snack. Binoculars are optional. Meet at Pine Mountain parking lot on Pine Mountain Road.

12:00-4:00PM: FREE Summer Trekking Launch celebration at the Ridgefield Recreation Center (Bounce Houses, games, prizes, snacks): 195 Danbury Road, Ridgefield, CT

8:30-10:00PM: Moths Hike at McKeon Farm with Ridgefield Conservation Commission and Woodcock Nature Center: McKeon Farm, Old Stagecoach Road. [GPS Address: 11 Old Stagecoach Road] or Lauzun Lane cul-de-sac. [GPS Address: 300 Lauzun Lane]

Sunday:

1:00-3:00PM: Hike with Ridgefield Conservation member Pete Nichols through wetlands, apple orchards, vegetable and pollinator garden, and by grazing sheep and llamas! Meet at McKeon Farm, Old Stagecoach Road. [GPS Address: 11 Old Stagecoach Road] or Lauzun Lane cul-de-sac. [GPS Address: 300 Lauzun Lane]
