3rd Annual Underdogs Writers’ Workshop

BROKEN GIRLS JP LLC proudly presents the 3rd Annual Underdogs Writers’ Workshop — a free creative writing experience designed to empower high school and college students through the power of storytelling and self-expression.

Held at the Ollie Burns Branch Library in Richwood, LA, this dynamic workshop features expert-led sessions in resume writing, emotional expression through writing, poetry, and scholarship/essay preparation.

🎓 What to Expect:

• Hands-on writing sessions led by experienced educators and professionals
• FREE school supplies, food, and vendor access
• A safe, encouraging space for students to grow creatively and academically
• Special welcome from Mayor Gerald Brown of Richwood

Info: As we close out the 3rd Annual Underdogs Writers’ Workshop, students will have the exciting opportunity to be awarded scholarships and receive free school supplies to kick off the school year strong. This final session also includes free food and a chance to connect with local vendors and community partners who are committed to student success.


We’ll end the day celebrating creativity, achievement, and opportunity — leaving every student inspired, equipped, and supported for the journey ahead.
