Richmond Bicycle Factory Open House

The Richmond Bicycle Factory houses the fabrication shops of Haute Bicycle Co, Swood Cycles, and Drixley Machine Works.

Miles, Stephen, and Wilson will be hanging out and grilling for you after a chill 5-mile bike ride to the shop from Dogwood Dell. Come enjoy some food and beverages and the Richmond punk stylings of ULTRA BLEACH.

Stephen Wood started Swood Cycles in 2019 making custom bicycles and racks one at a time. In 2023 he joined up with Wilson Hale to build bicycles at a higher volume with stock models and sizes, and Haute Bicycle Co. was born.

Miles Barnett has been machining metal since 2017 and started DMW in 2023 . Through some prodigal talent with old CNC machines, he's built Drixley Machine Works, the machine shop side of RBF.

Come hang out, see what we're all about, and put your hands on some bikes and bike stuff made here in RVA!

We'll be cooking Swood's smashburger recipe, and will have some excellent home made veggie burgers as well. Beers available from Vasen and other NA options.

There's an option to kick some $$ in for food and beverage, and to compensate the band. Every little bit helps, the suggested donation is $10.

We'll have plentiful Bike Parking, and will host a ride from Dogwood Dell to the shop. The ride rolls from the Dogwood Dell amphitheater at 6:30pm and will cross the Potterfield bridge if you'd like to meet us there around 6:45. Bring lights for your ride home!

Otherwise, we'll open up the shop at 7pm, start grilling soon after, and turn down the lights/turn up the amps around 9pm.

RBF's address is 900 Dinwiddie Ave, RVA 23224, but the door is around the side of the building facing Commerce Avenue. There will be signs!
