Let’s meet and sketch at Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf!

We had a successful meet up at this location a couple of years again so we're bringing it back!
The once thriving fishing village of Steveston, is a scenic destination these days, located along an arm of the Fraser and close to the sea.
There is a LOT to sketch here: the tram from 1912 (where we will meet), wharfs and fishing boats, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (Museum), Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site (Museum), Steveston Post Office (Museum), lots of industrial scenery, a pretty store-lined main street, the odd atmospheric cafe, kites flying in Garry Park and even the Phoenix Art Studio (Chatham St).

Even if there is some rain, we can find opportunities to sketch indoors such as in the three museums mentioned above. There are also a few cafes nearby. Given the long travel times for this meet-up, and the variety of things to sketch, let's allow for 2.5 hours to explore and sketch.
Our meetup point at 1 pm will be outside the historical Steveston Tram Building, located near the intersection of No. 1 Road and Moncton Street

How to Get There:
Public Transit: From Vancouver City Centre Station to Richmond-Brighouse Station, allow for at least a half hour travel time on the Canada Line train, and from Richmond-Brighouse Station (Terminus) to Steveston another 3/4 hour travel time – Sorry that it takes so long but I think it is worth it!
Take the Canada Line train to Richmond-Brighouse Station (Terminus) or the last stop. Be careful not to get on the wrong train going to YVR (Airport).
#402 Two Road Translink Bus is your best choice, as it will take you right to the Steveston Tram or Stop #56595:

Alternatively, #406 Steveston Translink Bus will get you to within two blocks of the Steveston Tram(Museum).
Driving: Parking is tricky but not impossible. There are spots on the side streets and a parking area near the Steveston Community Centre.
What to Bring:
Bring your art supplies, water, a hat and good outer clothing. A portable stool is also an asset.
