Fashioning FRIDA

Celebrate the life, legacy, and bold spirit of Frida Kahlo through art, community, and nature. Fashion Frida is a vibrant outdoor gathering that invites you to step into Frida’s world through floral expression, sustainable craft, and nourishing food—all just steps from the VMFA.

This is an independent creative experience and includes a timed ticket to the museum’s featured exhibit Frida: Beyond the Myth.

What’s Included:

1. Build Your Own Flower Crown

Bring a small bouquet or individual blooms to contribute to our communal flower pot. Then, join facilitator Kiran Bhagat to handcraft your own Frida-inspired flower crown—a symbol of beauty, resistance, and self-expression.

2. Sustainable Frida Doll Workshop

Led by doll artist Priyah Bhagat, this hands-on session invites you to create a Frida Kahlo-inspired doll using recycled materials, fabric scraps, and mixed media. Celebrate the artist’s identity and legacy while embracing sustainable creativity.

3. Vibrant Vegan Lunch Inspired by Frida

Enjoy a fresh, plant-based meal that honors Frida’s Mexican roots:

• Oyster Mushroom & Grilled Veggie Tacos
• Mexican Street Corn Salad
• Fruit Skewers & Guacamole
• Agua Fresca
• Coconut-Date Bites

4. Admission to the VMFA’s Frida Exhibition

Your ticket includes same-day entry to the highly anticipated Frida: Beyond the Myth exhibition.
