2ND BEST FEST / Miss Golightly & More! / Coalition Theater

The Coalition Theater proudly presents the 8th Annual 2ND BEST FEST—a three-day comedy extravaganza showcasing the best in improv, sketch, and stand-up. Running June 5–7, this year’s festival brings high-caliber acts from LA, Chicago, NYC, Baltimore, Raleigh, DC, and RVA to four incredible venues in Richmond’s Downtown Arts District.

First up, The Movies craft a character-driven long-form set, followed by stand-up from Randall Davis. Finally, Miss Golightly takes the stage once more!

The Movies 

​​Remember that first time you lost track of reality watching a show on the big, silver screen? That time you accidentally fell in love with Halle Berry? Anthony Mackie? Kathy Griffin?! The Movies do! Our troupe brings you a grab bag of emotional characters and invite you on a journey of learning how they all fit together. Join us on an improvised journey away from this reality into the hidden caves of the human heart, and back again. Sneak in a beer, put lunchables in your pants, or play it by the book and spend $60 on concessions… there’s no wrong way to enjoy The Movies.

Randall Davis 

Hailing originally from Ettrick, VA, and now based in Toano, VA (Williamsburg area), Randall is a fresh face in the comedy world. His childhood memory of Sinbad's HBO special, uniting his mother, grandfather, and himself in laughter, serves as an early motivator of his comedic journey.

Since stepping onto the stage he's been lighting up rooms with his warm personality and relatable humor. Randall weaves stories about his wife, kids and his adventures as a big guy navigating life—with a sprinkle of  childhood anecdotes. Randall has performed at DC Improv, Richmond Funny Bone, Last Word Comedy Festival, and the Good Karma Comedy Festival.

Located in Richmond's Downtown Arts District, the nonprofit Coalition Theater is dedicated to creating an inclusive space where laughter connects people. Through performances, classes, workshops, and community partnerships, we help individuals discover their comedic voice and provide a welcoming platform to share it.
