The average American family wastes approximately $1,500 worth of uneaten food each year – amounting to more than 60 million tons of wasted food!

Food waste accounts for nearly 25% of what ends up in our landfills and has a huge impact on our carbon emissions. But this is a problem we can change—starting in our fields, stores, kitchens, and communities.

Our free presentation on the Energy Stage (located on the Lower Level) — Stick a Fork in Food Waste — explores the social, environmental, and economic impacts of food waste and offers eye-opening facts along with practical, cost-saving solutions for reducing waste. Learn how you can make a difference—from smarter shopping and storage to composting. Kids and adults all have a part to play so bring the whole family to this interactive presentation.
