Drinks for Drinks is a party and benefit concert hosted at the Uptown Theatre. It’s a simple event - just 4 ingredients. First, we listen to great live music. This year we’ll enjoy Gabe Knutzen and Callisto Cady in the back alley, with DJing by King Reds inside the theatre. Second, we sell drinks and all the proceeds for those drinks go to charity. Third, we play all sorts of yard games like cornhole and beer pong (OK, technically a garage game). Fourth, we have a silent auction.
That’s it! No cover charge. Come hang out. Drink if you want, spend money if you want. Or just come play cornhole for free and pull an Irish goodbye.
This event is 21+ to keep things simple for security, but we really don’t get too rowdy. The silent auction will feature everything from gift baskets by local businesses, to a big Bluetooth speaker, to a package of mental health counseling. Come shop around.
The organization we’re raising funds for is Charity Water. They’ve helped provide clean water access to over 20 million people in 29 countries. They collaborate with communities to install water systems that can be locally sustained and maintained long-term, and they operate with an exceptionally high degree of efficiency and transparency. Clean water access drastically improves health outcomes and frees up folks (especially women and children) to pursue education and other life-giving stuff. They’re just a great organization helping meet one of the simplest needs in the world.
