College Safety Starts With You.

Every year, 1 in 5 college women experience sexual assault, and over 10,000 students face robbery or aggravated assault. College campuses are filled with opportunity — but also real risks. Whether you’re living in a dorm, commuting, or heading to parties, this workshop will give you practical skills to stay aware, assertive, and prepared.

This 2-hour workshop is built on the SABRE College Safety curriculum, trusted by campus police and instructors nationwide. We’ll cover how to spot danger early, de-escalate with confidence, and — if needed — physically respond with simple, effective self-defense tools.

You’ll also learn how to properly use pepper gel and personal safety alarms, including practice with SABRE’s inert (non-active) training sprays.

• How to recognize potentially dangerous situations on campus
• Verbal strategies for boundary setting and de-escalation
• Basic self-defense movement and pad striking
• How to respond to an active assailant
• Situational awareness in dorms, social events, public transit, etc.
• Hands-on pepper spray training (must be 18+)

• 60 min classroom-style discussion & scenarios
• 60 min hands-on practice with drills and pads
• Includes 3 SABRE practice sprays and certification

• College students (new or returning)
• High school seniors preparing for college
• Women, men, and non-binary students — all experience levels welcome

• $50 per person
• Must be 18+ for pepper spray certification
