Join us for an engaging afternoon with the Mae Blanton/DFW Begonia Society!
We’ll begin with a brief business meeting, then enjoy our featured program:
Botanical Illustration – Where Art Meets Science, presented by local Begonia Society member Dave Killpack
Discover how botanical illustration bridges the gap between science and art. Serving as both a precise scientific tool and a captivating art form, it captures intricate plant structures with clarity while evoking emotional connection and cultural significance. From its origins in ancient herbals and Renaissance masterpieces, to its vital role today in taxonomy, conservation, and modern design, botanical art continues to educate, inspire, and illuminate.
After the program, take part in our lively raffle of beautiful begonia plants (tickets are six for $5 and proceeds benefit our ABS Branch), then stay for refreshments and the opportunity to connect with fellow plant lovers—whether you’re a seasoned grower or just starting your plant journey.
Visitors & Guests are welcome.
