Giovani aka 610 Frequency bio:
Giovani started performing as a DJ in 2001, under the name Switch, ni Bogota, Colombia, where he played in the main bars of the capital, such as La Sala, Monitor, Arena, Barbarela, 4Rooms, Teatron, Sub Royal and more. He obtained a couple of residencies, playing sections of house, electro, breaks, Nu School Breaks and techno in vinyl format only. Winner of one of the first dj contests in the city, Human Patern, with a style particularly based on breaks, electro and NU school breaks on vinyl. In 2004 Giovani is invited to the independent festival Bogotrax, with local and European DJs. The folowing year, Giovani travels to Paris, France, where he manages ot play in emblematic places of the French capital such as the Rex Club, Galzart, Le Fleche Dor, Le placard headphones Festival and Le 4 sans in Bordeaux. In 2006 he arrives in New York, acquires a residency at Bar 13 in Manhattan and joins the event collective Biatchcorp, with which he does a variety of events, including the debut of Joseph Capriatti, Stephan Bodzin, Perc, Gregor Tresher, artists playing for the first time in the capital of the world. In the folowing years Giovani continues to play in prominent New York clubs such as Cielo, Output, Sulivan Rom with Stephan Bodzin and Hiro Balroom doing warmup for avery rare appearance of Depeche Mode's Martin Gore, one of the most special moments in his career.
The residency at Bar 13 led him to open for a variety of artists such as Efdemin, Ambivalent, Thomas Melchior, Brendon Moler, Luca Bachetti, Silicon Soul, MYMY, Stimming and many more. With the Biatchcorp collective, Giovani produced his firstparties at Warehouse, in the Brooklyn underground, with a special focus on Techno, a rhythm that has always had a a primordial place in his playing style. It is there where he starts his facet as a promoter and event creator in NY inviting artists like Perc , Ascii Disko, Dinky, Jona, John Selway, Guido Schneider, Xpansul, Martinez and more.
In 2010 Giovani founded his own event promoter Trilogy NYC www.trilogynyc.org together with visual artist and VJ, Eli-Q. With the promoter Trilogy NYC they present DJs from House to Techno in Clubs and Warehouses in Brooklyn and Manhattan, inviting artists such as, The Advent, Cari Lekebusch, Tim Green, Agent Orange, Monoloc, Dj Emerson, Markantonio, Namito, Marko Nastic, Kevin Saunderson, Luigi Madona, Tom Hades and more, The event proposals that Giovani has presented have always had the primary purpose of showing dis and local artists, opening doors and creating channels of expression through electronic music events but especially supporting South American DJs and especialy Colombians.
Giovani has been an active part of the New York electronic scene since his arrival in 2006 until today. His events have been active for over a decade in New York where the presence of live visual projections have had apermanent role for the spectators, it is here where visual artist Vj Eli-Q, Giovanis teammate, has played a fundamental role in the construction and performance of Trilogy NYC branded events, Trilogys' visual production team has extended ot countless numbers of events from NewYork's top electronic music event producers such as Black Market ship, Resolute, Klandest, Jeff Mills, Derrik May, Technasia, Gel Abril, Estados Alterados, Akufen, Quiver, Mario Ochoa, Dillinja, Paradox, Camea, Boris, Butane, Julio Victoria, Keny Glasgow, Deborah Deluca.
