Við skoðum græna litinn í vídeóverki Inuks Silis Höegh á sýningunni Græna landið og búum til okkar eigin landslagsmynd. Græni liturinn í verkinu táknar frumöflin fjögur; eld, jörð, vatn og loft og birtist sem grænn reykur, sem hlykkjast um landslagið líkt og grænn ormur.

Krakkaklúbburinn Krummi stendur fyrir fjölbreyttri og skemmtilegri dagskrá í hverjum mánuði þar sem kátum krökkum er boðið að fræðast um listaverkin í safneign Listasafns Íslands, skapa listaverk og leika sér í nærandi umhverfi.
Með starfrækslu krakkaklúbbsins vill Listasafn Íslands veita börnum og fjölskyldum þeirra tækifæri til þess að njóta góðra stunda saman á safninu. Dagskráin er vönduð og öllum er velkomið að taka þátt, sér að kostnaðarlausu.

Playing with Green Smoke
We explore the colour green in Inuk Silis Høegh’s video work featured in The Green Land exhibition and create our own landscapes. In the artwork, the green colour symbolises the four elements – fire, earth, water, and air – and appears as swirling green smoke, snaking through the landscape like a green serpent.
Let’s create our own symbols for the elements in our imaginative landscapes!

The Gallery encourages families to visit and contemplate the art on their own terms. We also offer diverse programming on a regular basis with an emphasis on enabling families to enjoy time together in creative ways, whether through live guided tours or custom workshops. All events are advertised specially in connection with exhibitions.
The kids' club Krummi runs a varied and fun program every month where cheerful kids are invited to learn about the works of art in the collection of the National Gallery of Iceland, create works of art and play in a nurturing environment
