Steina – Tímaflakk
Leiðsögn sérfræðings um sýninguna Steina Vasulka – Tímaflakk. Sýningin er samstarf Listasafns Íslands og Listasafns Reykjavíkur og verður í báðum söfnunum samtímis.
Gestir á Gæðastund fá leiðsögn um þau verk sem staðsett eru í Listasafni Íslands við Fríkirkjuveg. Steina er einn helsti frumkvöðull vídeólistar og nýmiðlunar í heiminum og brautryðjandi og áhrifamanneskja á sviði samtímalistar hérlendis. Verk hennar tengja tengja saman vídeólist, tónlist og tækni á einstakan hátt, þannig að úr verður skapandi og gáskafull list. Sýningin verður fyrsta yfirlitssýningin á verkum Steinu á Íslandi. Hún var upphaflega skipulögð í Bandaríkjunum undir heitinu Playback og sett þar upp á tveimur söfnum árið 2024. Hér á landi verður sýningin viðameiri bæði að umfangi og inntaki og listrænn ferill Steinu rakinn frá upphafi. Samanlögð sýningin í báðum söfnum mun því birta heildstæða og afar áhugaverða mynd af þróun tækni og listar á síðustu áratugum.
Gæðastundir eru viðburðir sem ætlaðir eru eldri borgurum. Viðburðirnir eru samsettir úr sérsniðnum leiðsögnum og spjalli við sérfræðinga safnsins um myndlist, yfirstandandi sýningar og starfsemi.
Viðburðirnir skapa tækifæri fyrir gesti til að nálgast myndlistina og menningararf þjóðarinnar á margvíslegan hátt. Ávallt er boðið upp á kaffi á gæðastundum í Listasafni Íslands.

Steina – Playback
Expert-led tour of the exhibition Playback. The exhibition is a collaboration between The National Gallery of Iceland and the Reykjavík Art Museum, presenting the works of visual artist Steina Vasulka.
It will open simultaneously in both museums, Iceland's two main art museums. Steina is internationally recognised as a leading pioneer in video and new media art and is a major influence on contemporary art in Iceland. Her work uniquely connects video art, music, and technology in ways that are both inventive and playful. The exhibition is the first major retrospective of Steina's work in Iceland. It will span the entire scope of her artistic career, tracing the development of Steina’s ideas and technological innovations over several decades, from early experiments in documentary video work to her most recent installations in the early 2000s.
The events calendar is aimed at senior citizens and is composed of specially designed tours as well as discussions with the museum´s experts on fine art, ongoing exhibitions and the work of the National Gallery of Iceland. The events create opportunities for guests to approach art and our national heritage from different perspectives.
The National Gallery´s Quality Moments events are always accompanied by coffee.
