Hvernig getum við gert dans kúl? Íþróttir eru kúl…það er kúl að stunda íþróttir og það er kúl að horfa á íþróttir. En hvaða íþrótt öskrar kúl? Fótbolti! Það hefur ávallt verið kúl að stunda fótbolta, horfa á fótbolta og halda með ákveðnu liði í fótbolta. Pepsi-deildin, Úrvalsdeildin, Meistaradeildin, Enska-deildin, Spænska-deildin… en nú er komið að DEILDINNI. DEILDIN er deild sem inniheldur einungis eitt lið, einn þjálfara og áhorfendur. DEILDIN er dansverk í formi fótboltaleiks.
Hluti af sviðslistahópnum “Atvinnumenn” hófu fyrstu rannsókn og æfingar á verkinu í sumar residensíu Dansverkstæðisins og sýna nú afrakstur þess. Birta Ásmundsdóttir er danshöfundur og þjálfari verksins.

How can we make dance cool? Sports are cool…It is cool to play sports and it is cool to watch sports. However, which sport screams cool? Football! It has always been cool to play football, watch football and to support a particular football team. Pepsi-League, Premier League, Champions League, Spanish League… but now it is time for THE LEAGUE/DEILDIN. DEILDIN is a league that contains only one team, one coach and an audience. DEILDIN is a dance piece in the form of a football game.
A part of the performing arts group “Atvinnumenn” began initial research and rehearsals on the work during their summer residency at Dansverkstæðið. Now they will showcase the results of that residency. Birta Ásmundsdóttir is the choreographer and coach of the dance piece.
