This year, as part of Emergency Preparedness Week, the City of Revelstoke will host an Emergency Preparedness Town Hall. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Revelstoke Community Center.
The event, led by City staff, will start with an interactive session in which community members can sign up for alerts, enter a giveaway, see what a ‘grab n’ go’ bag is, learn about Emergency Support Services, check out the FireSmart booth, learn how PreparedBC recommends preparing ahead of time and speak to emergency operations experts.
At 6 p.m., staff will present on emergency operations, crisis communications, and emergency preparedness. A Q&A will follow this. This event will be live-streamed via the City's YouTube channel.
The City intends to use this session to explain its emergency management processes and answer questions from the community.
