An exciting range of local talent brought together in a Special Summer Concert
in the beautiful setting of the 15th Century St John the Baptist church, East Markham.
The accomplished local choir, The Eakring Singers, founded in 2012 by their musical director and mezzo soprano Sarah Walster, joined by baritone Jonathan Price and soprano Emma Ward, will perform in aid of St John the Baptist church funds. The choir includes some the most talented young singers in the local area directed by Sarah Walster who was herself a leading member of the renowned local choir Cantamus. A graduate of the Royal College of Music she has performed as a soloist at home and abroad and is now in great demand as teacher of piano and singing independently and at several schools in the area.
The programme will include a wide variety of classical and modern choral and solo pieces ranging from Delibes well-known duet Lakme, through the Maori song Pokare Ana, to Elton John’s ‘I’m still standing’, with well-known and universally popular choruses and solos.
Tickets will include wine, soft drinks and canapes during the interval and guests will be invited to take part in the Super Summer Raffle in aid of the church to be drawn before the finale.
