About 3 weeks ago, Club Underground hosted a social hour for the local music scene, wherein our house manager and talent buyer, Brandon Deriso made a unique appearance.
When it became public information that Club Underground would be revived and reopened in 2025 with Brandon captaining the ship, tens of people banded together, filled with disingenuous outrage for their perceived common enemy and took to Facebook comments to DEMAND that Brandon Deriso take accountability for his actions from over a decade ago that had nothing to with them or be BANISHED INTO OBLIVION ALONG WITH ANYONE WHO SUPPORTS HIM FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!
So, we set it up.
Brando would appear live at Club Underground, in front of the pitchfork masses to accept his mob justice fate from the no doubt brilliant minds who have concocted this false outrage demand for accountability.
We even bought a bunch of BJs BBQ so you could all eat and drink for free while you killed him. But funny thing...only 2 people showed up for it and one of them works for us.
So, even though we had to eat the BBQ (get it?) we thought, "HEY! Maybe this means that people aren't as convicted to their outrage as they seem online! Maybe, just maybe....a scene will re-inherit an iconic venue with a storied promoter ready for his final projects and maybe old pains can be washed away by these new endeavors."
Alas, we have discovered the reality.
Every time we post, we have to endure online harassment from these tens of people, clearly suffering some extreme cases of main character syndrome. Yet, when offered the opportunity to show up in person to confront the man and the issues, it seems every last one of them had better things to do?
SO! Since we see that your conviction to Brando's accountability goes only as far as your chair and keyboard, here is your LAST CHANCE to get your jabs in or STFU forever.
Our friends over at DREAMPILOT FILMS have agreed to host an event we're calling THE HOT SEAT.
Brando will be going LIVE from DREAMPILOT STUDIOS to (once again) open a public discussion about what happened 15 years ago with Forever Music (15 years ago.......15....yeah?). He will touch on the MANY aspects of restorative and financial justice that he has implemented since the collapse of FOREVER MUSIC and answer all your questions LIVE on the spot. We will have some special guests as well, including previous investors who lost money in FOREVER MUSIC and were right there for what really happened.
Time to set the record straight once and for all.
Then it's time for all of us to STFU and get busy building a music scene.
