RADICAL HARMONIES-
Radical Harmonies is a full-length documentary that chronicles the Women's Music Cultural Movement and its evolution from a "girl with guitar" to a revolution in the roles of women in music and culture. The movement gave birth to an alternative industry that changed women and music forever.
Dr. Boden Sandstrom PhD will introduce the film and have a Q&A following
Musician Erin McKeown and Comedian Karen Williams will bring much needed artistry in music, story telling, comic relief, support for the LGBTQ community and a fun hysterical evening!
We are so grateful that Erin McKeown They/Their could join us this evening. Erin followed Jill Sobule and Jills style like no other and is a musician, writer, and producer known internationally for their prolific disregard of stylistic boundaries. Their brash and clever electric guitar playing is something tosee. Their singing voice is truly unique —clear, cool, and collected. Over the last 20 years, they have performed around the world, released 11 full length albums, and written for film, television, and theater, all the while refining their distinctive and challenging mix of American musical forms. If you loved Jill Sobule you will adore Erin!
Karen Williams is known for her quick repartee, insightful commentary and audience rapport, Williams is a comic craftmaster, a gifted actor, a multitalented writer, and an inspirational lecturer. Armed with her "heal with humor" philosophy, she gives humor workshops specifically designed to build self-awareness and self-confidence, and to encourage tolerance and respect for the dignity of human life.
