Did you hear the one about the coffee-drinking mermaid? You probably will if you come to hear the wonderful Baron Brady at Dreamers Folk on 7th September. Ros Brady and Si Barron arre a brilliant folk duo from Devon with a well-deserved national reputation. Their songs tell extraordinary stories, sometimes traditional, sometimes based on local legends - but with a twist. I understand there may also be flying highwaymen and corn-mowing devils.
Simon’s ballistic fingerstyle guitar complemented by Rosalind’s harmonium and whistles underlines their harmony singing.
Barron Brady are touring extensively across the UK promoting their new album.
TICKETS £6 on the door
PARKING There is additional parking outside the Methodist Church, on the same side of the road as the pub, about 100 yards in the Redruth direction. To use it you should park up, come to the club to get a permit and then go back to pop the permit behind the front window of your car.
“These two artists demonstrate most clearly in their work the relevance of an old tradition expertly employed to reflect a modern world, appealing to both the intellect and the heart.“
Si and Ros have been writing and touring as the folk duo Barron Brady for ten years and have released three albums during that time.
