SoulFood Poetry Night featuring JULIE ROBINETT and SHANE GUTHRIE, plus open mic

SoulFood Poetry Night’s 20th year of monthly poetry readings continues on October 16, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at SoulFood CoffeeHouse in Redmond, Washington. Tonight’s poetry performances are by JULIE ROBINETT and SHANE GUTHRIE. Please bring your own poems for our open mic. Admission is FREE.

JULIE ROBINETT, of Everett, Washington, encountered three poems in late 2011 that resonated with her so much that she decided to memorize a poem each week in 2012. Now she reads her own poetry at numerous local open mics—she’s easy to spot, in her white hat! Her work has appeared in the anthologies I Sing the Salmon Home and Examined Life. A broom she recently stood up in a friend’s living room remained upright for nineteen days.

SHANE GUTHRIE lives in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley in the town of Duvall, Washington. He’s been writing poetry since 1993, blending humor, life experience, and animal facts in a conversational style.
