ANN SPIERS celebrates her new book Wild Cucumber (Empty Bowl). Her other recent books are Rain Violent (Empty Bowl), Back Cut (Black Heron), and Harpoon (Ravenna). She served as Vashon Island’s inaugural poet laureate, and has edited literary journals, produced writing festivals and reading series, led creative writing workshops, judged for contests, selected for residencies, joined panels, and attended writing residences at the University of Washington’s Whiteley Center, Hedgebrook, and Espy Foundation.
ED HARKNESS was born in 1947 and grew up in Seattle. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Montana, where he studied with poets Madeline Defrees and Richard Hugo. Harkness taught English and creative writing at Shoreline Community College for 34 years. He lives with his life-mate, Linda, in Shoreline, Washington. His book, Creek Water: New & Selected Poems, has just been published by Empty Bowl Press.
