A calling together to remember
Open City Inc., the publishers of RealTime, invite you to celebrate the life and work of Keith Gallasch, who died in January.
Keith was a man of many parts: teacher, critic, performer, director, dramaturg, writer, publisher, editor, provocateur and fierce advocate of art and artists.
Driven by boundless intellectual curiosity and creative energy, Keith was interested in just about everything, passionate about innovative artists and new ideas and above all generous and supportive, whether as friend, colleague, collaborator or critic.
Keith’s untimely death in January tore a hole in the rich weave of the creative community to which he contributed so much, through his own work and in his support for the work of many others, especially in the innovation and small to medium arts sectors.
While we grieve his loss, we celebrate his spirit and the vast archive of writing and recordings he leaves us, along with rich memories of our interactions and collaborations with this remarkable man.
When we assemble on May 10, some of Keith’s contribution will be re-called through shared readings and recollections.
In addition to the program curated by Virginia Baxter and Gail Priest, there will be opportunities to add your voices: if you would like to take part, read or respond to some of Keith’s writing, share a memory or send a message, let us know via

Let us know too if you intend to come along – it will help in organising the catering.
