Our event will start with the speech from the first guest speakers Monika Wahi and Dinesh Chacko who will present on the topic of Using Open Data on Energy: Applying the Scientific Method.

Dinesh Chacko Bio:
Dinesh Chacko is an independent IT consultant and DevOps advocate helping organisations harness the power of cutting-edge technology. As the Founder of Oldfields Builds Ltd., Dinesh’s expertise spans AI, cloud computing, blockchain, and cyber security, driving solutions that position businesses for sustainable growth in our rapidly evolving digital landscape. His is an active member of the Institute for Electric and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Institute of Analysts and Programmers (IAP), and the British Computer Society (BCS), and serves as an end-point assessor for Skills England. He and his co-author, Monika Wahi, analyse open energy data on the topics of sustainable energy, energy use, and electric vehicle adoption. His recent publications include “Patterns of Sustainable Energy Use in the UK’s Northern Powergrid” in the Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Energy Harvesting, Storage, and Transfer (EHST 2025). Monika Wahi Bio:
Monika Wahi is an epidemiologist, biostatistician, and data scientist specialising in scientific writing, manuscript preparation, and navigating the peer-review process. A co-founder of Research & Data Lab, Monika is an expert in helping researchers craft compelling narratives that resonate with journal reviewers and readers. She has previously directed several data repositories, including the Total Army Injury and Health Outcomes Database (TAIHOD). She also has co-authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications and several books, including “Mastering SAS Programming for Data Warehousing” and “Biostatistics for Dummies: Second Edition”. Our second guest speaker Peter de Main will present on the topic of Ollama AI hosted locally and choosing LLM and interaction with python and the potential to script requests to from scraping PDF.

Peter de Main Bio:
Experience: 17 years IT experience in public sectors
Certifications: CISSP, SANS 503, 504, 511, 505.
Education: Foundation degree, MSc(Pending)
Security engineering and researcher.


You are welcome to join even if you are not a member of the Thames Valley chapter. If you have an ISC2 valid membership you can receive the relevant CPE tokens if you have attended the whole session. You will be asked for your ISC2 membership number during registration. If you are unable to attend, please make sure to cancel your ticket 2 business days before the event, so that we can reallocate your ticket to another member of the community.
