This event brings together leaders from construction, design, legal, landlord, and tenant perspectives to shine a light on the values shaping the future of the built environment.

David is a Partner in Vail Williams Occupier Advisory team based in their Thames Valley office with over 25 years experience advising occupiers all over the UK on aligning their property requirements with their corporate strategy transacting on over 3 million square feet to date. David also leads Vail Williams advice in relation to Energy & Sustainability including MEES compliance strategies and green lease provisions. David is a graduate of the University of Reading and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

About the speakers

Rory Carson - Director at Mapletree

Rory oversees the UK & Ireland Asset Management team for Mapletree Investments, a Singaporean real estate investor, developer and capital manager with SG$77.5bn of assets under management. Rory has been involved in commercial real estate in Reading for over 20 years, including at the 1.6m sq ft business community at Green Park, where Mapletree strives to create and curate an exceptional environment for people to thrive. Further afield, Mapletree owns office assets in Aberdeen, Bristol, Dublin and Manchester and industrial assets in Derby and Wallingford. Rory is a graduate of Oxford University and Reading University and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Daniel Lampard - Head of the Thames Valley Office of Lichfields

Daniel is a chartered Town Planner and is Head of the Thames Valley Office of Lichfields (which he set up 10 years ago). He has 30 years experience in the planning and development industry acting for both private and public sector clients. During that time he has advised a number of the Country’s leading developers and operators including Marks and Spencer, British Land, JP Morgan and most of the main house builders on their planning strategies to bring forward development, create jobs and unlock economic benefits. He has obtained a number of major planning permissions across the Thames Valley including the Horlicks Quarter in Slough (Berkeley Homes), Student Castle in Oxford, Foundation Park, Maidenhead and enhancements to the award winning Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in South Oxfordshire.

William Barrett - Managing Director of Francis Construction

Will Barrett is Managing Director of Francis Construction, steering the company’s success journey at strategic level. With over 20 years overseeing complex schemes in all sectors, Will smoothly drives operational efficiencies and innovation. In the past, Will was a regional Chairman of Constructing Excellence, a cross-sector member led organisation, driving the change agenda to improve construction industry performance. Will’s active role in the CIOB combined with his own commitment striving to bring trust and transparency to the industry, leads to meaningful long-term relationships with clients and fellow construction professionals. Will is continuously advocating inspiring young people into the industry and is committed to improving value and involving local communities in projects, resulting in greater engagement and increased professional and personal well-being.

David Thomas – Partner & LLP Member at Vail Williams
