In this practical and interactive workshop, Helen will introduce you to the 6 archetypal movement patterns of resistance training, what muscle groups they target, and how to adapt them to your environment, schedule and current strength level.
You can expect to
- explore how to leverage technique and variables for maximum benefit
- understand how strength training can complement a postural yoga practice
- develop an understanding of how to map the 6 archetypal patterns to your personal goals.
The session will include time and space for questions (and to debunk myths) about strength training and you will leave with a simple framework for you to build your own short and effective workouts at home, with tips to make it enjoyable!
Helen has been resistance training alongside yoga and other practices for over a decade, including through pregnancy and post-partum recovery. She is a level 3 qualified strength and conditioning coach, on a continual quest to make strength training relevant, fuss-free and fun, both for herself and others.
The workshop offers an accessible entry point for anyone wanting to add more strength into their existing movement diet, or refine current technique and approaches. It is suitable for anyone who wants to understand the benefits of resistance training and how to begin building it into your weekly routine.
