Centro Hispano is thrilled to lead this innovative project sponsored by the PA Downtown Center and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh. Reading, PA was chosen as one of the 10 communities that will receive funding for a neighborhood revitalization opportunity.
The purpose of Blueprint Communities is to serve as a catalyst for the revitalization of older communities and neighborhoods. To achieve this, we need YOUR help!
We want you to help steer the decisions made throughout the process.
We have partnered with many local organizations and government agencies to revitalize the neighborhood of Penn Street from 8th-11th street to Douglass Street where the new Reading SD STEM school is being built.
We're looking to:
• People who live, own a business, work, or know of anyone in this sector.
• Build strong local leadership, collaboration and development capacity.
• Developing sound local and regional planning which includes a clear community vision and comprehensive implementation plans.
• Encouraging coordinated investments by public and private funders.
We want you to join us for a listening and informational session covering our goals and strategies to revitalize this neighborhood.
There will be 2 sessions available to attend.
The first one is in English on Monday October 27th 8am.
The second is in Spanish on Tuesday October 28th 6pm.
Both sessions will be held in our office building (Gateway building) 1st floor of 201 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601
