About the event

CE - Composting 101 Workshop w/ WV State University Extension

Join WVSU Extension Service on Saturday, 10/18/25, at the Jackson County Library in Ripley for an introduction to composting. Participants will learn what compost is and isn't, and how it benefits the environment and their backyard. We will discuss types of composting systems and common composting issues. Then, we will investigate different kinds of DIY bins and build one for the library!

This workshop is free and open to the public! Several olive barrels will be raffled off as door prizes for participants to make a DIY compost tumbler.
