When life throws a curveball—a job loss, illness, or unexpected expense—keeping up with basic utilities can become a major stressor. That’s why the Rapid City Public Works Department is launching City Utility Assist, a community-driven program to ensure no household goes without essential water, sewer, and solid waste services during temporary financial hardship.
Join us for Bowls of Hope, a pay-what-you-can soup supper on Thursday, May 15 at 6:00 PM at Rapid City Hall. This heartwarming event is the official kickoff of City Utility Assist, with all proceeds going directly to help our neighbors in need. The funds will be managed by the Rapid City chapter of the Society of Saint Vincent DePaul, who not only provide emergency assistance but also connect families with long-term support services.
This evening of food, hope, and community is made possible by the dedicated city staff who are volunteering their time and energy to make a difference. Whether you come for the soup, the cause, or the company, we hope you'll join us in making sure no one in Rapid City has to face hardship alone.
