Have been going to castings and not been booking jobs, or are you new in the industry and you are not sure how castings work? Then this workshop is perfect for you! This workshop is open to anyone aged 13 and above. You do not have to be registered with Blaze Talent to attend, so feel free to share this workshop with your friends and family.
This workshop has been designed to help you create believable performances in camera situations, both for self-tapes and in-person castings and auditions. You can expect to develop your fundamental acting skills such as creativity, imagination, voice, body language, gesture, and facial expression. By the end of the workshop, you will have greatly improved your on-camera performance skills and become more confident in front of the camera.
The workshop will cover topics such as TV and Film Industry Theory, creating characters using actions, portraying different emotional states, accurate portrayal of physical styles and executing effective self-tapes and audition techniques.
The workshop is presented by acting coach Stanimir Stoykov. Stanimir holds a master’s degree in film and television and is currently employed as the Drama and Digital Literacy teacher at Crawford Italia School. He also has extensive experience in the film and television industry, having worked as a Casting Director on commercials, feature films and TV series, and collaborated with South Africa’s award-winning talents such as Robert Whitehead, Grethe Fox, Nomsa Buthelezi, Tamara Dey, Amra Faye Wright and Sibusiso Radebe.
The workshop will be run in conjunction with Ryan Sukhessan, who currently works for Blaze Talent. Ryan holds a BA in Live Performance (Acting for Screen and Stage), earned in 2007. He has appeared in South African feature films, local and international series. He also worked as a casting director at Kayos Casting Directors, one of Africa’s leading casting companies for seven years.
