Prepare for success with our two-session crash course designed to strengthen your English Paper 1 skills ahead of the November Cambridge exams. Over two focused Saturdays, we’ll cover both comprehension and directed writing, helping you build confidence, refine your exam technique, and master the skills examiners are looking for.
On 6 September (08:30–11:30), we’ll tackle Part 1: Text Comprehension, Language and Style Analysis, and Comparative Analysis. Students will learn how to recognise tone, audience and purpose, infer implicit meaning, detect bias and perspective, and comment effectively on word choice, grammar, rhetorical devices, structure, and cohesion.
On 13 September (08:30–11:30), we’ll focus on Part 2: Directed Writing and Reflection. This session will sharpen skills in recasting and synthesising content, using creative and reflective language, and writing in different formats. Students will practice applying rhetorical and stylistic features, showing insight into a writer’s purpose, and embedding attitudes and values into their own responses.
🎯 Across both sessions, students will receive guided practice, examiner-style strategies, and targeted materials to help them approach Paper 1 with confidence and clarity.
📍 Location: NEXUS School, Randburg. 92 Ethel street
💰 Fee: R2450 (includes both sessions + materials)
