WEEDEATER
Weedeater was born the mid-’90s, in Wilmington, NC, originally taking shape as a side project of vocalist/bassist “Dixie” Dave Collins, who was otherwise engaged with sludge metal cult favorites Buzzov*en at the time. However, upon that band’s official demise in 1998, Collins was free to concentrate his efforts on Weedeater, which released two sludgecore albums to kick off the new millennium: 2001’s And Justice for Y’All and 2002’s Sixteen Tons, both produced by stoner specialist Billy Anderson. Collins later decided to tour briefly as bass player for Bongzilla and also found time to lend his four strings to Wilmington neighbors, Sourvein, but continued to work with Weedeater guitarist Shep and drummer Keko, touring relentlessly over the years, with the likes of C.O.C. and Alabama Thunderpussy. Busy as he was, Collins and co. finally got around to recording their third long-player, God Luck and Good Speed, which was release through Southern Lord in 2007. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
KING PARROT
King Parrot are an Australian grindcore band formed in Melbourne in 2010. They have released 3 studio albums: Bite Your Head Off, Dead Set and Ugly Produce.
BONGINATOR
In late 2021, guitarist and vocalist Erik Thorstenn started writing demos for a yet undetermined death metal project born from his passion for cheesy 80’s movies and growing W**d. Fast forward just one year later, and the band now known as Bonginator has made a crushing impact on the death metal scene. Bonginator is a stoner death metal band based out of Boston, MA, but don’t let the name fool you. Bonginator isn’t your everyday stoner band, they pack a serious punch of hardcore death riffs and gut ripping breakdowns that come together to create an experience that can only be described as “hands-free” if you know what I mean. Bonginator totes the phrase “Two-Stepping Neon W**d Death” as a means to simplify their hardcore, energetic, 80’s inspired W**d-infused death metal sound into a cool phrase on a t-shirt.
