The Veldt with Actual Humans and DJ Kraze/DJ Pangean

Come to Slim’s on October 16th from 8-11:30pm to see The Veldt with Actual Humans and DJ Kraze/DJ Pangean. The Veldt rose out of North Carolina in the late 80s to take part in the new wave of shoegaze, blending it with soul. Their innovative mix of sound and genre takes inspiration from the music and culture they grew up with, drawing from Motown, gospel, and Pink Floyd. Their sonic mix of dreamy textures and raw rhythm earned them early recognition, a Capitol Records deal in 1989, and a place on Pitchfork’s “Top 50 Shoegaze Albums Ever” list. They have collaborated and shared stages with Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins, Oasis, The Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and more. Always experimenting, The Veldt has built a reputation as pioneers who blur genre lines while staying true to their roots. With decades of touring behind them and no shortage of fire left, The Veldt bring their boundary-pushing sound to Slim’s for a night of creativity, soul, and volume you won’t forget.

Joining is Actual Humans, a local alternative dance rock and disco band. Their riffs and rhythms are sure to get your whole body moving.
