The third child of Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain, JUANA seemed lucky to find herself in an arranged marriage with FELIPE the Handsome (as he was nicknamed) from the Netherlands... a man close in age and so smitten with her that he insisted they marry immediately.

Lucky? JUANA inherited a throne because her two siblings and nephew died and she was next in line. She had six children with FELIPE, who she was crazy about, but who turned out to be a cheat and philanderer. She was called mad because she got a little cuckoo when she caught FELIPE in the arms of his mistress after a two year absence. Six kids...lots of post partum ...numerous infidelities ....in only eight years of marriage - then FELIPE had the nerve to die! That she carted his dead body around with her afterwards...mad...well...?
