Organizers for the Benefit in the Barn announced that the affair is returning for its 11th year Aug. 16 at We Feed U Farms in Delaware County. The signature late-summer occasion brings consumers and farmers together for food, entertainment, fun and a purpose. The main objectives of the Benefit in the Barn are to spotlight the hunger issues in our community, raise funding to help address the issue while also providing opportunities for dialogue between consumers and farmers.
The outdoor event will feature dinner catered by City Barbeque and local beer & wine.
Sponsored by Delaware and Union County Farm Bureau organizations, this year’s entertainment will spotlight and acoustic set of music by local singer/songwriter Kenny Chaffin as well as a full band performance following the live auction at 7:30pm
Benefit in the Barn has raised over $600,000 to support hunger relief efforts in Delaware and Union Counties. All net proceeds this year will benefit the Delaware County Hunger Alliance and the Hope Center in Marysville.
Bring a lawn chair for open seating in the barnyard. An acoustic set from local singer Kenny Chaffin will be offered at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. then event announcements & auction items. The evening concludes with a full band performance by Kenny Chaffin at 7:30 p.m.
Kenny is a Marysville, Ohio native who has recently begun his journey as a singer/songwriter. In 2022 he took the stage for the first time, covering songs ranging from all of your 90’s country favorites to current Morgan Wallen hits. He is quickly gaining traction through TikTok and Instagram after being featured on the Columbus radio station, 92.3 WCOL. Kenny has played in the Columbus area building a local fan base. Kenny has opened for Ernest, Lainey Wilson, The Wallflowers, Jon Pardi and Tracy Lawrence. Additionally, he has been featured and played live on the air for the 92.3 WCOL morning wake up show for Zuko and Kayla.
