Every day, someone in our community is suffering in silence—trapped in fear, isolated from loved ones, and unsure where to turn.
You can help change that.
We invite you to stand with survivors by sponsoring the Women’s Resource Center’s Walk to Break the Silence on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Monument Square as we begin Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This event is more than a walk—it’s a moment of hope. A moment of truth. A moment to remember those we’ve lost, lift up those still fighting, and honor the brave survivors who have found their voice. Some will even share their personal stories with us—stories of unimaginable pain, but also of resilience and strength.
Representatives from local organizations including BeLEAF, Fight to End Exploitation, SAFE Haven of Racine, and Planned Parenthood will be there to provide resources and support. Most importantly, we will stand together as a community that refuses to look away.
Each year, the Women’s Resource Center provides emergency shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy, and emotional support to over 1,200 survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence right here in Racine County. Behind each number is a face—a mother fleeing with her children in the middle of the night, a teenager experiencing their first relationship trauma, a survivor breaking free after years of suffering.
Your sponsorship helps us reach them.

This cause is deeply personal for many of us. Some of our staff are survivors themselves. We walk because we’ve lived it. We walk because we care. And we walk because every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.
Your support is more than a donation—it’s a lifeline.
Please join us. Help us break the silence and build a future free from violence.
