“The Golden Drum” drum making class. Inspired by The Golden Healer Quartz stone and Siberian style drums, we will blend the two to create very special and unique drum. The finished product will be a hand crafted fine art drum/sculpture that this world has seen never before. Let’s prepare for the end of the cycle and bring in the new!
Please join Sean Mizer as he shares his heart and craft on June 1st @noon for this once in a lifetime drum making opportunity. This class will focus on the hide cutting and lacing of the drum. We will also share stories, intentions, and some drumming. This is not a woodworking course. The drums will be hand-made of Western Red Cedar by Sean, and you will be guided using elk and deer hide depending on availability. Each drum will have its own unique handle.
This will be held at The 16th St. Studios. Studio 2323.

For thousands of years the drum can be found throughout history of indigenous people around the world. Sometimes called the frame drum or hand drum. Not only were they used musically while singing and in celebration, but also are considered sacred and used during ceremony, ritual, meditation and prayer.
If you are interested in making your very own personal drum. It is an opportunity to genuinely connect and share while honoring the creative process.
Drum size will be an 18” frame with additional nodule resonators (similarly as shown) totalling roughly @22”.
