During this community workshop led by artist George Long, attendees will explore different approaches to drawing on paper with a variety of non traditional materials inside the studio and outside the studio.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
George Long has been a professional working artist and designer since receiving his bfa from the Atlanta College of art in 1995 . His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the southeast nationally and internationally . A selection of notable solo exhibitions and group exhibitions include
Jacksonville Museum of modern art, Pacos das arts Brazil , Columbus Museum of art , the Atlanta contemporary , the High Museum , the Zuckerman Museum , University of West Georgia , Agnes Scott College , Flux Projects , and Marcia Wood gallery Atlanta .
He received an NEA Grant for public art in 2008 . He was invited to attend the International Kunstler Kolonie residency in Nuremberg Germany and Osmos station residency in New York . Some of the Notable collections and commissions include the city of Nuremberg Germany , City of Atlanta , Carlos museum , City of Roswell ga . Zuckerman Museum , Atlanta Beltline , Flux projects ,Spruill center for the Arts , and many private collections
ELLIGIBILTY: Your primary address must be in Rabun County in order to attend this workshop for free but you can attend for a small fee if you are not a resident. Upon arriving, you will be asked to show ID with your address.
-Space is limited to 8 participants.
-Each participant must register separately.
-Open to local creatives over the age of 12.
-Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult. Minors will not be asked for ID; only adults.
