Celebrate the First Sunday of Advent with a
Morning of Music and Praise
All Music Morning Service
Sunday, Nov. 30
8:45 am
Union United Methodist Church invites the community to a joyful All Music Morning Service on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 8:45 am at 1101 State St., Quincy, Ill.
Bring your extended family and friends for a special worship service filled with beautiful and inspiring music to mark the first Sunday of Advent. The Union Choir, directed by Cathy Flick, will be joined by guest musicians Camber Flick (oboe) and Jeffrey Doll (trumpet), visiting from Lexington, Kentucky.
Camber holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree from the University of Miami, and Jeffrey holds a DMA from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Together, they will share their musical gifts alongside Union’s talented worship team.
The service will feature choir anthems, instrumental pieces, and beloved congregational hymns led by Michael Perkins and Doris Sanders, with Tina Bunte accompanying on piano and organ.
“The service takes place on the first Sunday of Advent,” said Music Director Cathy Flick. “The music will reflect that as we enter this season of hope—celebrating the coming of Jesus in the past, present, and future.”
Some of the selections include “Sing Noel: A Christmas Fanfare” and “The Little Cradle Rocks,” featuring Jeffrey on trumpet, and “Still a Bach Christmas,” and “Winter Carol” with Camber on oboe, Michael singing, and Cathy accompanying on piano.
All are welcome to join this morning of praise as we prepare our hearts for the Advent season.
