Step into the shadows this October as we celebrate 50 million steps into the unknown. Haunted Heritage brings Otago’s hidden and haunted secrets to life in a month of chilling tours and anniversary events.

By lantern light, you’ll wander the shadowed streets of Arrowtown, where echoes of the gold rush linger in tales most macabre. Amongst the quiet lanes and historic buildings stir the restless spirits of weary miners, lawless pirates, and even the whispered legend of spectral monkeys.

Guiding this milestone walk is Andrew Smith – historian, New Zealand’s original ghost guide, and pioneer of dark tourism. As we mark the 20th Anniversary of the Golden Ghost tour, Andrew returns to the stories that have haunted Arrowtown for decades, including the infamous fate of Jumbo Smith and the sinister fever that gold left in its wake.
