About the event

Rockaway Beach Cleanup with JBRPC, Souleil, and Project Rescue Ocean
With beach opening just a few weeks away, join JBRPC, Souleil Wines, and Project Rescue Ocean for a beach cleanup at Beach 108th St!

About this Event

Volunteers will meet by the flag stand and Shorefront Bike Crossing and Garden by Beach, 108th Street and Shore Front Pkwy, to help keep our beachfront clean and protect our oceans.

The cleanup will be followed by an Apéro hosted by Souleil at The Rockaway Hotel, featuring live music, ocean views, delicious organic wines, and good vibes. Tickets for the general public to the apéro au Souleil are available for $25 a ticket.

Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring water and sunscreen. The event is rain or shine.

Jamaica Bay—Rockaway Parks Conservancy is a public-private partnership established in 2013 to preserve and restore 10,000 acres of public parkland. Its goal is to ensure the long-term sustainability of parks, wetlands, and wildlife habitats for residents and visitors.

Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy Community Stewardship Programs are generously supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Con Edison, NYC Green Fund, and NYC Ferry, operated by Hornblower. Public funding is provided by NY Senator Roxanne Persaud, Assemblymembers Stacey Pheffer-Amato and Jaime R. Williams, NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, NYC Council Majority Whip Selvena Brooks-Powers, NYC Council Minority Leader Joann Ariola and NYC Council Member Mercedes Narcisse.

Project Rescue Ocean is a non-governmental organization (NGO) recognized as being of public interest and a member of the UNESCO Clubs. Its mission is to protect the marine environment, coastlines, and biodiversity.

Launched in 2025, the New York branch organizes wild waste collection initiatives and leads awareness campaigns on pollution affecting beaches and waterways.
