Glowing at the Gantries

It’s summertime, which means our firefly friends are lighting up the night once again! Explore the park with our educators to observe, catch, and release these special insects. Find out why fireflies glow and how we can protect them. We will also collect and contribute important data for Firefly Atlas to support firefly conservation efforts! Feel free to bring your own jars or containers to catch fireflies!

Who: All ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Where: Picnic table area by the Rainbow Playground at Gantry Plaza State Park

Please bring your own flashlight! If you cannot, one will be provided to you.

PLEASE NOTE:

• If we do not hear from you 10 minutes into the program, we will release your reservation to the next person on the waitlist.

• In the case of inclement weather, the program may be rescheduled or canceled. Please be sure to check your email a few hours before the program starts.
