Help us plant 3,500 native grasses, herbs and wildflowers to celebrate National Tree Day.
This event is free, but registration is essential via the ticketing link.
Planting begins at 10am, and will finish at midday, or earlier if everything is planted.
By planting specific grasses that native insects prefer, we can support bees and butterflies, enhance pollination and provide food for little birds.
This year, we’re boosting biodiversity around this inner city area by planting in the habitat corridor that runs from the Glebe foreshore along Johnstons Creek. When patches of plants are close together, it’s safer and easier for animals to move around our city.
- Kids are welcome, but must be supervised at all times.
- Please wear enclosed shoes and dress sun safe. We recommend trousers, hats and long sleeves.
- Catch public transport as parking is limited.
- Bring your own water bottle and gardening gloves if you have them. Fruit and water will be available.
This event may be postponed or cancelled in extreme weather.
Can't make it on the 27th? You can also join us for a smaller planting day event on Friday 25 July, 10am to 12pm at Harold Park, Forest Lodge.
