On his arrival in Europe, 35 years ago, Adrian Mears quickly established himself as one of the strongest jazz trombonists on the European scene. His virtuosity and outstanding technical finesse on the trombone, combined with his ability to improvise effortlessly over complex polyrhythms and harmony is unique. His career has been distinguished by performance and recording credits alongside countless Jazz Legends. His international reputation is also reflected in his talent to compose & arrange in diverse styles of any instrumentation - with over 500 original compositions, works for symphony orchestras, big bands, large choirs, and countless smaller ensembles. He has been Professor at Jazzcampus Basel, Switzerland for the past 25 years.

Andrew Dickeson is one of Australia's most prominent, prolific and accomplished musicians. He is respected by young and old throughout Australia, through his strong connections in New York, Japan and his online presence. For decades he has been the first call drummer in Sydney, which has provided countless magical collaborations with visiting Jazz Stars from overseas or the nations best. As a dedicated jazz educator, Andrew spreads the legacy of swinging hard, and through his initiative and perseverance he brings people and projects together.

This performance celebrates a 40 year musical friendship. Their journey began together as teenagers and has led them into careers performing around the entire world leading their own projects and as sidemen for numerous Jazz legends. Both are renowned for their superb musicianship, creativity, technical virtuosity and also their dedication to Jazz education.
