Are you a parent, guardian, or caregiver looking for free developmental courses and support to help you foster a proactive approach to support and preventative care?
The Puyallup School District has partnered with Behavior Bridges to host a series of in-person and virtual parent and caregiver learning classes during the 2024-25 school year for our families.
The classes are designed to offer attendees comprehensive support in understanding and nurturing their child’s healthy development. Also, they will gain access to valuable information and resources aimed at enabling them to create a supportive and enriching environment for their children to thrive.
No registration is required to join the classes.
🤟The program will provide translation services for both in-person and virtual attendees.
👶 Childcare services will be provided for in-person attendees.
🕔The free classes will be held from 5 to 6 p.m.

✅ Oct. 17 - Setting Up Successful Environments: Discover how to create supportive spaces at home that foster learning and emotional well-being. This session will provide practical tips for organizing physical and social environments to enhance engagement and reduce distractions.
✅ Nov. 21 - Proactive Behavior Supports: Learn effective strategies for encouraging positive behaviors before challenges arise. This session will cover techniques to promote self-regulation and build resilience, helping families to proactively address potential behavioral issues.
✅ Jan. 23 - Addressing Challenging Behaviors: Join us for a discussion on understanding and managing challenging behaviors in children. We’ll explore root causes and provide tools to help families respond effectively, fostering a more positive and supportive environment.
✅ Feb. 20 - Managing Big Transitions: Transitions can be tough for children and families. In this session, we’ll share strategies for navigating significant life changes, whether it’s moving to a new school, starting a new grade, or any other major shift, ensuring a smoother adjustment for everyone.
✅ Mar. 27 - Supporting Early Learners to Thrive: This session focuses on nurturing the unique needs of early learners. Families will learn about developmental milestones and effective practices to support their child's growth, curiosity, and readiness for future learning experiences.
✅ Apr. 17 - Rethinking Screen Time and Social Media: Explore the impact of screen time and social media on children's development. We’ll discuss guidelines for healthy usage, tips for balancing online and offline activities, and ways to encourage meaningful interactions in the digital age.
✅ May 22 - Getting Ready for Summer: Resources, IEP Coordination, Services, and Future Transition Planning: Prepare for a successful summer with insights into available resources and services for your child. This session will also cover IEP coordination and planning for future transitions, ensuring families have the support they need during the break and beyond.
