## *Anabasara Falabhara Yatra-2025: A Spiritual Journey from Deuli Math (Kakatpur, Puri) to Shree Mandir Jagannath Dham, Puri*
*📅 18th June – 20th June 2025*
*📍 From Deuli Math (Kakatpur, Puri) to Puri Srimandir*
### “Jagannath is not just a deity — He is a divine experience, a Leela made manifest.”
In the timeless land of *Jagannath Kshetra*, where every ritual breathes spiritual meaning, there lies one of the most compassionate divine plays — the *Anabasara Leela*. This human-like moment in divinity reminds us that even the Lord rests, heals, and withdraws from public life to regain health. Each year, during *Jyestha Purnima* — the birthday of *Lord Shree Jagannath* — the Lord undergoes *Snahana Purnima*, where He is bathed with *108 sacred pots (gara)* of water. Following this divine ablution, the Lord catches a symbolic fever, and thus begins the *Anabasara period* — a sacred quarantine. For the next fifteen days, the deities remain in seclusion, away from public view. Devotees patiently wait for *Nava Yauvana Darshan*, when the Lord appears again, youthful and radiant. But even during this divine rest, *devotion does not stop* — it transforms. And one of the most touching expressions of this devotion is the *Anabasara Fal (Fruits) Yatra*, an age-old tradition that still flows like a sacred undercurrent through Odisha.
### 🌿 The Sacred Source: Deuli Math, Kakatpur, Puri
Located in the spiritually rich *Prachi Valley*, the *Deuli Math* near *Kakatpur* is known as the _Anabasara Leelasthali_ of *Lord Shree Jagannath*, *Balabhadra*, *Subhadra Maa*, and *Sudarshan Ji*. It also serves as a *Shakti Peeth*, being the *seat of Goddess Mangala Devi* — regarded by locals as the _spiritual mother_ of Lord Shree Jagannath. As per *Skanda* and *Padma Purana*, the *Prachi River* is referred to as a *Teertha Pabitra Nadi (Holy River)* — the sacred river of Jagannath Kshetra. When the *Nabakalebara* (ritual renewal of Shree Jagannath’s body) occurs, it is in Deuli Math that the *sevayats and saints* camp, chanting the sacred *Swapneshwari Mantra*. It is believed that *Maa Mangala* appears in dreams to show the location of the *Brahma Daru*, the sacred neem tree from which the new idols are carved. This deep connection is why *the people of Prachi Valley lovingly consider Maa Mangala as the mother of Lord Jagannath*. His maternal uncle’s temple — *Madhav Mandir of Niali* — also lies along the banks of this river, completing this divine family linkage.
### 🚩 Anabasara Falabhara (Fruits Festival) Yatra-2025: A Tradition Lives On
This year, the *Anabasara Fal (Fruits) Yatra* will begin on *18th June 2025 at 10:00 AM from Deuli Math, Kakatpur, Puri*, carrying with it centuries of faith and tradition.
- *Fruits, Tulsi, and devotional offerings* from the Prachi Valley will be sent to Lord Jagannath during His rest period, as a symbol of love and healing from His extended family.
- The *first fruit of every tree*, the most sacred offerings of the valley, are lovingly donated for this ritual.
- *Three traditional bullock carts (bail gaadi)* will carry these offerings from *Deuli Math to Puri Sri Jagannath Mandir*, retracing a route that’s been followed for generations.
### 🚶♂️ A Pilgrimage on Foot — Faith in Every Step
Hundreds of devotees join this sacred journey *on foot*, singing bhajans and Sankirtana, taking rest at *temples and maths along the way*, resting, praying, and moving forward in a collective spirit of *bhakti and seva*. The final leg of the journey includes:
- *Kakatpur - Jahnibalia - Konark - Kriyayog Ashram*
- *Dashavatara Math in Puri* – where *Bhaktasiromani Shree Jayadeva*, the legendary devotee-poet of Prachi Valley, is honored with a *Bhakta Mala offering*.
- *Grand Sankirtan on Badadanda* – where devotees walk towards the temple, immersed in kirtan and divine joy.
- *Fruits Samarpan at Nrusingh Temple near Mukti Mandap inside Srimandir* – the offerings from Prachi Valley are humbly placed before the Lord, praying for His speedy recovery and well-being.
🕊️ A Living Heritage of Love and Devotion
The Anabasara Fal Yatra is more than a ritual — it is *a living, breathing symbol of Odisha’s intimate relationship with Jagannath*, where even His rest becomes a cause for deeper devotion. In today’s world, where traditions often fade into museums, this yatra keeps the sacred alive — not just in monuments, but in *hearts, villages, forests, fruits, and footpaths*.
🙏 Join the Journey, Feel the Leela
We invite you to walk with us, to offer your prayers, your tulsi, your fruit, your voice — or simply your heart. Let this be a reminder that *Jagannath is never alone*, and neither are we — for in His Leela, we all have a place.
