Native Snakes of Loudoun

Snakes play an important role in maintaining the balance and diversity of native species. They keep rodent populations in check and in turn are preyed upon by other animals. While their time is spent filling basic biological needs (food, reproduction, regulating body temperature), they remain one of our most feared and misunderstood groups of animals. Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and the Loudoun County Public Library at Purcellville Library for this introduction to our native snakes. You’ll learn how to identify them, and measures we can take to better understand and coexist with them. No registration necessary.
