A little introduction and back story.... My name is Mollie Watson and I am Samanthas youngest daughter and resident of Giles County. My mom had 4 children in which she birthed and 1 proclaimed son. The oldest; Michael, the twins ; Ashley & Sydney, then myself, Mollie. Proclaimed son is Seth.
We orginated in Limestone County, AL. It was just my mom and I up here in Giles County, she come here in 2011 and I followed early 2012.
My mom, Samantha Bivens, was a beloved member of the Minor Hill Community her whole time living here. She worked at the local
convenience store in Minor Hill which made her friendly demeanor, smile and yummy breakfast and lunch well known and loved. Mom was not only an amazing mama but the BEST Gigi there could have ever been. Her grandchildren were her life!
On October 7th, 2024 my mom's life was unexpectedly and tragically taken in her own home in Minor Hill, TN by a man who had been a father figures to me for 15 years, a man she loved with every bone in her body. It wasn't until an article was released stating this was "a classic case of domestic violence" that it really sank in that yes, my mother was a victim of domestic violence. I'm not sure if we were just naïve to the fact or what but it really just sparked something inside my heart.
I've been through the "what could I have done" , "if I had done this then she would still be alive" , "I didn't do enough", etc phase of grieving and it wasn't until recently that I accepted the fact that none of those questions I was asking myself or thoughts I was thinking would change what happened BUT it could possibly help someone else.
That said, I have partnered with The Shelter to help raise awareness for Domestic Violence in hopes that I could possibly help even one person in any type of domestic violence situation and also to help keep my mama's memory alive and help tell her story.
Please comment, share and post!
We would also love to see and/or hear any and all memories you have with her!
